Watercolouring part 1

Hello everyone!

Hope you are well. So today's blog will be a two-parter, well I did not want to spoil you with all the creations all at once and also it gives me time to make more cards to write about ;-)

I have been trying out my watercolour paints, had them for awhile now but never used them so at last I have got them out but this is my first time at proper watercolouring, not just dipping a wet brush into ink pads but properly using watercolour paints!!

So I decided to just keep it simple at first, I read about painting a wash of water over the card first of all so this is what I did and then I just painted various colours over the card. Once this was dry I really did not know what to do with it at first so I kept them in my drawer, then eventually a couple of months later I got them out and stamped some sentiments (from Crafters Compantion) over the top of the colours and mounted them.I think they turned out quite nice don't you think for a first go?

So following on from there I did another card this time using a butterfly stencil and at first I thought it was a bit rubbish but then it kind of grew on me and like I have said before with other cards, it looks shabby chic.

The ribbon and sentiment at the bottom gives it a nice finishing touch.

So that is that from this post for now, stay tuned for watercolouring part 2 next week!

Thanks for reading and please leave a comment
